Alors que Windows 11 est entré dans la dernière ligne droite et qu’Android 12 devrait arriver cet automne, Apple communique activement auprès des journalistes et blogueurs sur les nouveautés de ses prochains systèmes. L’occasion d’essayer les versions bêta?

La pomme met effectivement à disposition ses prochains systèmes d’exploitation à cette adresse. Si vous avez une machine qui n’est pas directement dédiée à de la production, vous pouvez à vos risques et périls vous aventurer à tester iOS 15, iPadOS 15, macOS Monterey, watchOS 8 et tvOS 15.

Nombreuses nouveautés

Les nouveautés proposées sur ces différents systèmes sont en effet nombreuses et globalement bienvenues. On citera par exemple la possibilité de faire participer à des conversations sur FaceTime des personnes utilisant des appareils sous Windows ou Android. Et on ne tarit pas d’éloges pour le nouveau mode de suppression du bruit dans FaceTime.

On citera aussi entre autres les efforts entrepris par Apple pour améliorer la productivité sur l’iPad lors de l’utilisation simultanée de plusieurs programmes. Par ailleurs, la nouvelle version de Safari, entièrement remaniée, semble des plus séduisantes, notamment pour voir un maximum des sites que vous explorez…

Que se passera-t-il dans la tête des utilisateurs qui devront peut-être, selon leur environnement de travail, faire face presque en même temps à de nouvelles possibilités sous Windows 11, Android 12 et sur l’ensemble de l’écosystème Apple… Si l’on rajoute ces nouveautés numériques à toutes celles en provenance de vos instituts bancaires, partenaires, commerçants ou autres, il y a de quoi y perdre son latin…

Overview of new features:

• FaceTime calls on iPhone, iPad and Mac feel more natural with spatial audio, microphone modes to separate a user’s voice from background noise and Portrait mode. FaceTime calls also extend beyond Apple devices with the ability to create a link, so anyone can join from their web browser on Android and Windows devices.
• SharePlay allows users to share experiences while connecting on FaceTime on iPhone, iPad, or Mac — listen to songs together, watch a TV show or movie in sync, including on Apple TV, or share their screen.
• Live Text for iPhone, iPad and Mac intelligently recognizes text in a photo and allows users to take action, so now they can easily search for the picture of a handwritten family recipe or capture a phone number from a storefront with the option to place a call.
• Weather gets beautifully redesigned with animated backgrounds, graphical displays of weather data, and dynamic layouts that change based on environmental conditions.
• Updates to Notes across macOS and iPadOS adds systemwide note taking with Quick Note. Users can bring up Quick Note anywhere to jot down a thought and add links, providing an easy way to get back to exactly what they were looking at. iPhone users can easily find and edit their Quick Notes created on Mac and iPad.
• Safari, the world’s fastest browser, gets a new design that makes controls easier to reach with one hand and puts content front and center on iPhone, while a reimagined browsing experience on iPad and Mac introduces a new tab design that lets users see more of the page as they scroll.

Additional features: 

• iPadOS 15 delivers more intuitive multitasking, a new Home Screen design with integrated widgets, App Library, and Translate delivers new features for translating text and conversations.
• Audio of Siri requests is now processed entirely on device and performance improves significantly. Siri also adds Announce Notifications on AirPods, and the ability for users to share what’s on their screen just by asking.
• macOS Monterey offers new ways to connect, get more done, and work smarter across devices, including Shortcuts for Mac which allows users to automate everyday tasks, Universal Control, which lets users work with a single mouse and keyboard and move between Mac and iPad for a seamless experience, and AirPlay to Mac, which allows users to play, present, and share just about anything to their Mac from another device.
• New privacy features provide transparency and control, such as Mail Privacy Protection, which stops senders from using invisible pixels to collect information about the user, while the App Privacy Report allows users to see how often each app has used the permission they’ve previously granted to access their location, photos, camera, microphone, and contacts during the past seven days, and find out whom their data may be shared with. And with on-device speech recognition, the audio of users’ requests is processed right on their iPhone or iPad by default.
• Account Recovery allows customers to select family or friends who can help them get back into their Apple ID account if they ever forget their password or get locked out. And the new Digital Legacy program allows users to add Digital Legacy Contacts to their account so they can easily pass down information like photos and documents to family members or friends if they pass away.
• iCloud+ combines everything customers love about iCloud with new premium features like Hide My Email, expanded HomeKit Secure Video support, and an innovative new internet privacy service, iCloud Private Relay, at no additional cost.
• watchOS 8 delivers powerful access, activity, and health features for Apple Watch, including a new Mindfulness app and new Tai Chi and Pilates workout types to help users lead a fit and healthy life, and support mental well-being. And, it introduces a new Portraits watch face as well as enhancements to Messages and the Photos app to make staying connected to loved ones even easier.
• New Health features allow users to securely share their data with important people in their life, like a family member or caregiver, and receive insights into the health trends of their loved ones. Also, new tools can be used to identify, measure, and understand changes in a person’s health data with Trends and an industry first Walking Steadiness metric.
• With upcoming software updates for the home, users can enjoy seamless entertainment and smart home experiences that are easy, private, and secure. New group recommendations on the Apple TV app make it easier to find something to watch with friends and family. Users can control playback on Apple TV using Siri on any HomePod mini in the house, and enjoy superior sound with great range and fidelity by pairing Apple TV 4K with HomePod mini or using AirPods Max or AirPods Pro with Apple TV 4K to enjoy spatial audio. And enhancements with HomeKit cameras and Apple TV mean you can control nearby accessories while viewing a camera on TV, or even display multiple cameras at the same time.
